Top Annuity Issuers of 1Q 2013: LIMRA

Jackson National issued the most individual annuities ($5.3 bn) in the first quarter of 2013. No surprise, since the unit of England's Prudential Plc was the overall largest issuer in 2012 ($22.4 bn). Jackson National was also the top VA issuer ($4.56 bn). Allianz Life edged New York Life for top 1Q honors in fixed annuity sales.
